Ian’s career spans management consulting through investment banking to enterprise IT. With a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, Ian has applied himself to the successful deployment of technology across a range of industries. Having initially worked for Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting) in London and San Francisco, Ian moved to head IT at Hambrecht & Quist (now part of JP Morgan), and then Tibco (formerly Teknekron Software Systems). From his days at H&Q, Ian became more and more interested in entrepreneurship, starting the London office and European operations for what became Tibco Software Inc. As a founder of, and investor in, ChargeBox, he has navigated the company to a world leadership position, built around a strong technology focus to solve a problem that everyone experiences frequently – a low battery on their smartphone.
